Fly my pretties! Fly!

[Ruby Wasser]

Ruby absently watched her wand dance across her notes as the Transfiguration teacher explained the intricacies of the spell they where going to be attempting next.

"... Now the wand motion is tap, tap, Swish and flick. On the flick you say clearly To fraq Widis!. Repeat it with me..."

Ruby chorused with the rest of the class "To fraq Widis!"

"Very good. Now, remember to keep the end result firmly in mind. Now, each of you pick a bird and spread out a bit."

Ruby stretched and padded forward to get a budgie out of the school cages. Most of the other students where going for larger flashier birds to try the spell on. Why go big? Just meant more energy she needed to put behind the spell.

"To fraq Widis!" Ruby said as her wand went though the motions, and a rush of power left her body, sending a tingle to her core. On it's perch her budgie shivered and then turned into a Philippine tarsier; the world's smallest monkey.

"Awww, aren't you a cutie?" Ruby cooed as the little primate hopped to her hand. Just as the little creature settled shrieks filled the class room and something brown and gross smacked into the side of Ruby's head. "Son of a... who the hell through..." Ruby started to rage as she stood and turned to find several of her house mates hadn't kept the end result firmly in mind and now several winged monkeys where running a muck, flinging poo, pulling hair, un-bolting the window...

Plot: Little bit of chaos, and maybe a new pet for Ruby and or Tabby.

[Tabby]

Tabby heard screeching as she padded back out from taking a student to the infirmary. Record time for a fourth year ignoring her warnings about jewelry and shiny objects and getting a digit (or more) torn almost all the way off. The rest of her lesson had been canceled for the moment, she'd dragged the student by their good hand up to the infirmary and was on her way back down to set up her next lesson. She wrinkled her nose as the smell of feces hit her when she walked past the Transfiguration classroom.

"What in a Hoover Vacuum is going on in here?" She dodged another fistful of monkey poop and raised her eyebrows before a massive grin broke across her face. "Okay, this is awesome." Her feline ears twitched and her tail flicked back and forth in a pleased manner. She removed her wand and flicked it easily, without a word. The winged monkeys flew over to her, apparently enamored with the tall red-head. She smiled and pet several of them, raising an eyebrow at the teacher. One monkey apparently wanted even more attention and gave a shambling, limb flapping and flailing run over to Ruby's monkey, grabbing the unwinged primate and trying to bring it back to Tabby. Tabby took the frightened simian gently, but scolded the kidnapper and stepped all the way into the classroom.

"I believe this belongs to you, Miss Wasser." She offered the frightened Philippine tarsier to the student.

The teacher sighed and pointed to one of the less talented students in the class. "Bernadette happened. And some how she locked the spell." The teacher sighed, and erected a shield to prevent another thrown palm full from hitting their face. There was sarcasm dripping from their next comment. "Oh yes, very awesome. This is going to take hours to fix. Do you have suitable... facilities for... Imobulus! Wingardium Livioso!" the body bind spell blasted out stunning the apes at the now open window, and the levitation spell kept them from falling to their deaths.

"Thank you Professor." Ruby said as she accepted her monkey back, and glowered at the thief.

Tabby laughed and flipped her wand again. The monkeys that weren’t immobilized came flying over to her and wrapped their limbs around her arms, legs, middle, neck, hair, anything they could get a grip on they clung to now.

“Well now, I do have the facilities for such things, and luckily I have the time to set them up as well. If I were you I’d let Miss Wasser keep that one, as against school rules as it might be. It’s too small to be dangerous to anyone. Come along now then little fellows. Oh aren’t you an adorable little old man.” She coo’d happily at a bearded emperor tamarin with brown spotted white pigeon wings. The monkey climbed up and perched on her shoulder, wrapping his tail around her neck so he wouldn’t fall off.

“May I steal Miss Wasser for assistance in getting them put in their location? She’s the only student in here who has good marks in my class. Thanks a bunch.” Tabby didn’t wait for an answer, just grabbed Ruby and started off down the hallway covered in winged monkeys. “Honestly I don’t know what she was thinking teaching a lesson like that to such morons. I mean really, half of them are failing my class and the only thing I really require is mild competence to pass. Ah well, I guess idiots will be idiots.” She sighed as she carried the monkeys up the stairs to the ‘special’ room that she knew of.

The Transfig professor shook her head at tabby. "Honestly, she's the only one I trust to help you with them. Ms Wasser, you're dismissed, and i'll see that if it takes longer then the rest of this class to get that lot settled your next teacher knows ahead of time."

"Yes, professor, thank you professor." Ruby said as she tucked her monkey into a pocket where he'd be safe and let two spider monkeys with hawk wings perch on her shoulders.

Once they where out of ear shot of the class room Ruby snorted in disgust. "it's the system's fault. If a student can skate by on the bare minimum, why bother trying for a higher grade? So, gonna keep these guys as pets?
