Flower Crown (Open)

Blue on green with purest white overhead. Red hair fanned out as the thirteen year old faced the wind that blew over the lake. She was a startling sight for anyone who happened upon her suddenly, her skin dyed blue, bright, blood red hair, black and yellow Hogwarts robes that identified her as a Hufflepuff.

Sally sighed, while her sister was in detention for the evening she had nothing to do. She'd come outside, hoping to find a way to entertain herself that didn't involve re-re-RE-reading her Ancient Runes textbook. Quite honestly, as much as she loved to read through her text books (and other large tomes of knowledge) they got quite boring after the second time. She noticed a large patch of white clover on the lawn, marked by a single ray of sun through the still white clouds, and made her way to it. She smiled and sat down, carefully running her fingers through the foliage. She plucked some of the longer stemmed and prettier flowers, as well as a few of the actual 'leafed' clovers and smiled. Almost enough, but she needed something for accent. She looked around and spotted some dandelions as well.

"Perfect. These will make a lovely crown for Jackie. Plus then I can tease her about wearing Hufflepuff colors!" Sally smiled. She loved her twin, she really did, but sometimes the look on Jackie's face when she was annoyed about something was just too good to pass up. She wandered over and picked them up. There were a number of ways to make flower crowns, from slitting the stems and pulling things through, to almost tying them together, but her favorite way was simply to braid the stems together. So she did, laying each one so that the 'flower' was nearly a third of the way down the stem of the previous one, and then just wrapping them together. She slipped twice and had to fix her mistakes, but soon she had a perfect crown of flowers that she could put on her twins head. But she also saw several other good daffodils, clovers, and even a few daisies over by the forest.

After chewing her lip for several moments she smiled and stood up, gathering up the last of the good clover and daffodils she made her way over to the edge of the forest. She knew students weren't supposed to go IN the forest, but... she wasn't going in. She was just picking flowers, right here, on the edge. That would be okay wouldn't it?

Notes: This is what happens when I have been reading too many Yuri fanfics about Sailor Moon... I get weird things in my head.

[Lyall Asiah Jordan]

The lake's surface reflected the shine from the high noon sun.. The only disturbance to the surface being the dark haired form of Lyall calmly drifting on his back, admiring the deep blue of the sky lined with a few silver lined clouds, the tiniest of currents pulling him from the middle of the lake to the shore. He closed his eyes and sighed as he felt the water slowly warming under him, telling him he was nearing the shallows so he flipped and powered back across the lake doing makeshift laps from bank to bank. Sure it was quite a distance between shores but he'd swam farther in the great blue ocean that surrounded his home.

Becoming winded he decided to return to the shore closest to the castle, unaware that he now wasn't the only one occupying that specific part of the grounds. A smirk played with his lips as he walked out of the lake shirtless with the wind playing across the droplets left by the water raising a cool chill across his exercise warmed skin. Swimming was one of his favorite past times, and he missed being able to see all sorts of creatures enjoying the swim with him.

He looked up to see a red head move away from the lake and toward the forest. His heart skipped a beat as it looked like the person, he hadn't determined if it was a girl or guy, looked to be at the most fourteen. The forest was a place that was generally off limits at the good times, but now.. Since the newest Gryff seeker had been attacked on the grounds no student was allowed any where near the trees. Not even caring to put his shoes or shirt on he started into a run after the kid.

Lyall skid to a stop in front of the person he now knew was a.....girl? Though a wild colored one. The poor kid had skin the color of blueberries it appeared. Not even thinking about that oddity at the moment he rather rudely told the girl in no uncertain terms about students not being allowed near the forest.

"Uhmn.. Kid, student's aren't allowed near the forest, haven't you heard about the Beast that still resides there?! Anyone caught around the boundaries gets instant detention if not worse. A Gryff was almost killed just walking across the grounds to the Pitch.!" As he gave his warning, he reached down and put a hand under the girl's arm pulling her to her feet and leading her back toward the lake... Or at least far enough away from the forest he could see the thing coming if it just had in inkling for tender meat.
