The classroom was dimly lit, which was entirely ok with Zadiken. What intrigued him was how so very few people would notice how dim it was, or even bother to complain. When a student would enter his classroom, the first thing he or she would notice (aside from how dim it is) would be the painting in the back of the classroom. It was The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in the Sun. He had acquired a recreation of this painting some time ago, and was rather proud of it. His desk was large, the standard Oak desks that the Professors were usually furnished. Atop it were several artifacts, usually indiscernible from a distance, but they were actually created from randomly charging alchemy through stones or sand. There were no desks, just several couches lining the wall. The textbooks were designed to hover in the front of the reader while they read in relaxed comfort, because Alchemy was as much of a mental art as it was physical. The students would be taxed to their limit today, and would most likely be exhausted when they leave the class. Atop the desk sat Zadiken, himself, watching the door for new arrivals.

Ruby padded into the class room, her supplies tucked into her bag. She couldn't help wondering what had possessed her to sign up for this class. How useful was Alechemy going to be in her daily life? But then again, how many of the spells she'd learned so far in charms and transfiguration was she going to ever use once she was out of school? Still, this could prove interesting. Her father had mentioned in passing some wand makers alchemical altered the wood and core of the want, or added other things to them created by the process. And besides, she liked chemistry, maybe this would be like that muggle science.
"Professor." she said with a slight bow to her teacher. "Assigned seats, or sit where ever?

Opening the door to the classroom Lyall had a smile on. He enjoyed alchemy, had the knack for figuring out what could be made from what and also what couldn't be. He'd learned some of the simplest types back home and was looking forward to continuing the study not many schools offered. Most reasoning that it was worse than black magic.... or the dark arts.... if a person got it in their mind.
He looked at the desk thinking he'd see one of the older, 'out dated' professors that had been hanging around the hall way. With a groan he realized it was his fencing professor. Great. he thought.. Just great. He hated fencing, and his professor knew it. Now he had two classes with the same professor and chances are the hostility over fencing was likely to carry over to this class. Well, alchemy used to be his favorite class, now he was going to be lucky to get out of the class without changing himself into a four-legged freak he imagined.
Even so, he placed his bag by one of the chairs and greeted the professor, noticing Ruby had signed up too he smirked. "We meet again Professor.... I take it that seating doesn't matter?" Looking at the red head he laughed, "Roped into this one also?"

Ruby grinned at Lyall as she dropped her bad next to one of the spots on the floor and dropped into a boneless heap. She glanced at Zad and then slipped her shoes off, wiggling her stockinged toes for a bit.
"Nah, not this class. Gran's not one for sitting patiently waiting for stuff to happen. Which also means she sucks at potions. I signed on mainly because i didn't want a free period at this time, and cause this is something new for me."
She leaned closer to Lyall, making like she was being sneaky as she glanced at the professor. "I wonder how many students are signing on for this class hoping to pad their bank accounts with lead into gold or to become immortal with a Philosopher's stone." Ruby let out a disgusted snort as she sat back up. "Idiots. Money isn't everything, and living forever would just get boring after awhile with the "Been there, seen that, nothing new..." wearing on you."
OOC: Note: Sorry Zad for jumping the order; the post just popped into my head and i didn't want to loose it.
