The Dark Arts; A twisting of the purity that is magic. In this class you will be learning how to recognize and defend yourself against those who use them. Be aware, any who are caught actually using the Dark Arts will be handed over to the Headmistress and possibly the Ministry for discipline.
While takeing Magical Dueling is not a requirement of this class, it is recommended that students take that class as well to use it as a hands on lab to practice the spells learned in Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Defense Against the Dark Arts is a 1st through 5th year core course, and a NEWT level optional course from 6th and 7th years.

- The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection (1st - 3rd)
- The Essential Defense Against the Dark Arts (4th - 5th)
- Confronting the Faceless (6th and 7th years)
Required Equipment:
