History:
Born naturally on the second day of the second month, Sessilee was brought into the world by her father's own hands and her mother's hard work. Having believed that the birth of his first child was sacred, Mingan refused to allow a modern doctor have the blessing of delivering the shaman's first born, who's gender was a surprise due to similar beliefs about the sanctity of the child's birth. With no complications and both mother and daughter healthy, it was a wonderful day. The nontraditional name was a big surprise from Mingan, who believed it was their duty to uphold the ancient traditions. Mingan's only defense was that his spirit told him to name her Sessilee, which meant “Blind of Self Beauty.”
Sessilee grew up never realizing that she lacked anything. Their house kept out the wind and rain; meals were plain but never missed; she worked picking corn and beans with the rest of the kids from her little village after school. She attended a two room elementary school in the village with the other children, learning to read, write and do the basic necessities. Highschool was more life training in the village; and no one in the tribe had been to college.
Then one season, an epidemic of a very strong flu ransacked the village and Mingan was himself caught under it's afflictions. The third day of the flu, Sessilee scooted over to her father's bedside and put her hands on him; first his forehead, then his chest, and then finally she pressed her hand on his abdomen. The bad energies were expelled and Mingan was soon on the road to recovery. It made him proud to see that Sessilee was to be a Shaman as well, as a healing was usually the first sign of spiritual power.
From then on her father took her under his guidance and taught her how to go into a deep trance and ask spirits questions; how to identify her power animal to aid in spiritual wellness and how to keep it from leaving her. He taught her that long ago, mostly women had the gifts of shamanism because their spirits were more suited to healing, as they had been built for baring children, and men were rarer.
Sessilee was in the middle of one of these lessons when she happened upon what appeared to be a wolves' den. It was extremely large and Sessilee could hear the sounds of cubs from inside. Wolves, in Shamanism, are symbols of family, love and intelligence. They're fierce and fiercely loving, and so Sessilee didn't have any fear as she went to look at these creatures. When she found the "cubs," she realized she was NOT in a wolf den... these wolves were the size of bears. Sessilee had never heard the word "Warg" before, but that was exactly what she'd found. The leader scented her and followed her as she scrambled out. When she reached the mouth of the den, she heard a terrifying howl and the responses from the pack. The hunt was on... Sessilee broke out in a run but the creatures were by far faster than her. She tripped, fell, and the wargs surrounded her, looking down at her and a few snapped at her but waited for the alpha, who was sniffing her. The warg didn't bark or growl but it grabbed Sessilee by her arm; it's teeth ripping into her skin. After it had pulled her about, a call from her father sounded and several flaming, smouldering arrows hit the ground around the wargs. They immediately left, the Alpha being the last, giving Sessilee one long last look before turning and heading back to his den.
Sessilee's father tried his best to console the girl and went through the healing of her spirit, but there was a scar on Sessilee's mind no consoling words would heal. As much as her father insisted they were only making sure she was no threat, the gash in her arm scarred over and the fear never left her.
In their poor village home, Sessilee grew and learned very quickly; almost faster than her father could teach her. So her father asked the spirits how to provide her with a better understanding when her powers seemed to have the potential to be greater than his own. His response was to be patient; that the answer was already on it's way. Not long after that, an owl appeared outside the little shack they called a home and in it's claws was a letter. Owls had long been a symbol for seeing past deception, sometimes carrying a warning, but Mingan read the letter to his wife and child with much enthusiasm.
The Ministry of Magic had offered to sponsor Sessilee and allow her to travel overseas to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There was a list of requirements that Sessilee did not understand, however. She would have to go to the Ministry a few days before school and talk with someone representing her interests. They seemed to want something in return for their generosity. Her father, convinced that this was the answer the spirits had told him was coming, immediately began preparing the girl for her journey. A few weeks later, Sessilee walked with her father, and her one small handbag of items, to the bus stop down the mountain and across the valley on the main road. Her father gave her a wooden totem of a bear and a wolf; his and his wife's Power Animals; so that Sessilee would never be lonely and would always be able to call their spirits to her for support.
After the long journey to the Ministry, Sessilee finally got to meet her benefactors. A committee of some sort in the ministry had picked her to sponsor into Hogwarts because of her talents and potential. She was given her school supplies and a ticket and sent to platform nine and three quarters. Sessilee's first two years of school were largely uneventful. It was the typicals; uncomfortable run-ins with new races she'd never seen before, new subjects she'd never heard of ever before, new philosophies that were outlandish to her and new experiences that would be cherished. On her third year's start, the Ministry gave her an odd request. From now on, any strange happenings or unusual rooms or doors she found, she was to report directly to her sponsor, post haste.
Sessilee has begun to realize that perhaps rather than asking the spirits about what do do with her schooling, perhaps she should have been asking them how to get out of the deal with the ministry...[/ul]

Sessilee looked up at the now familiar train platform. She still had trouble believing that by some miracle she was transported to this other world, this other reality, so different from any she'd known before two years ago. It should have been easier for her to believe than anyone. The trances she'd been in showed her that there were two realities, and each affected the other in very subtle, sometimes subliminal, ways. Sess had been here twice and it was still marvelous and disconcerting when she arrived at Hogwarts.
When she'd settled into the train station she looked down at the packet that the Ministry had given her this last time. Something had changed and it made her more than a little uneasy about this year. For some reason, it felt like their sponsoring her led up to this little request and she wasn't sure she liked the idea of trying to find these hidden chambers for the ministry. For all she knew, there was something diabolical in those chambers not to be messed with...
She shoved the papers back in the envelope and looked back out the window, sighing. She would ask the spirits what to do about this obviously covert mission... and how it would affect her life if she actually went through with it. Who knows... someone out there in the stars might be able to help her circumvent the entire situation...
But would it mean she would be unable to attend Hogwarts anymore? She hoped that wasn't the case... she had grown to like it there. Sure she still had awkward moments of not understanding what was being said or meant when dealing with her peers, but the place itself was a wonderful place and she enjoyed being there. Sessilee doubted her father would have ever let her leave the village if it hadn't been for the spirits saying this place would help her grow beyond her father's limitations. She was grateful for that, as well. She sighed as the train came up to the proper stop.
"...I'm back." She whispered to the image outside the window. "...possibly for the last time, but I hope not..." She smiled at the town and the distant castle like structure that had become her Other Home.
