Rules and Regulations
Hello, and welcome to the Roleplaying site, Mysteries of Hogwarts! There are a few things we have to go over before anything else!
Rule 1: Sexual Content
This is PG-13, due to the minimum age for members being 13, so no blatant nudity, sexual content, or graphic allusions to sex. This is a serious offense, and if you are caught, you will be placed on an immediate one week ban. Too many sites get shut down because someone wanted to wave a certain body part around in a thread. However, if your character MUST make the bad stuff, the whoopie, the horizontal mambo, FADE OUT the thread, and pick up after the act is done. Never speak of it again. We don't want to read smut.
Rule 2: Violence
Violence happens in this universe (Duels, etc), but due to the PG-13 rating, I'm going to limit the number of body parts and organs flying around in any given thread to : 0. This is an adventure site, not a gore fest.
Rule 3: Respect
Please respect other members and their ways. Please keep all discussion about Politics, Religion, and other similar things out of the discussion on the thread, the cbox, and everywhere else on the site. (Psst! The first password is Priori Incantatem! Put this in your profile!) Also, if you have a quarrel with another member, please report them instead of fighting with them.
Rule 4: Personal issues
I know you have bad days, and I get that, but please, for the love of Lark, do not bring personal stuff here. If you have a "crush" or whatever on another member, contact them via PM to confess your feelings, and if you get rejected, please, keep it off of the site. I don't want to see broken hearts littering my nice, red board.
With exceptions, of course, affection is allowed (glomping, tackling, cuddling) but no serious "You complete me" speeches. i.e. Me and Kaliana are married IRL, but we keep the bulk of our kissy time off the web. kthx
Rule 5: Cursing
Keep the damn cursing to a minimum. I understand that people like to do it just for the sake of doing it (this goes for you, 13 year olds) but serious words - i.e. F*ck, or G*d damn should be used sparingly. Abbreviations such as WTF, IDGAF, LMFAO, or whatever are ok, we know what you mean, and as long as you aren't spelling out the slang for sexual relations every five seconds, then you're good.
Rul 6: Literacy
kso, i kno every1 wants 2 typ liek dis, n mak it ther own, but dis is a liter8 site.
Seriously, you can do the chatspeak and 1337sp33k in the Cbox to your heart's content, but in your threads, spell out your words, spell them right, and please for the love of God, PUNCTUATE.
Rule 7: Characters
We are really trying to have mostly humans on the site to limit the "Twilight-esque" feeling from having too many vampire and were-beasts, so first characters made HAVE to be human! Second characters are allowed to be of mixed (humanoid, vampire, ect.)[/i] is place your first charries name in the "First pass" spot, and put a link to the profile on the app being submitted.
You may start off with one character. After 50 posts (since we're all new), you may create another one.
Moderators can start with two.
Global Mods three.
Administrators can make four (mainly for plot purposes).
The maximum number of characters you can have are 4
From the second character on, you do not have to use passys in the app, what you do have to do
Amendment - Cannon characters require special approval from the admins before applying. Also, their history has to be specific and detailed. We are very picky about who can do cannons. These characters if you choose to apply must be your second character and you must have posted at least 50 posts with your first so we can judge your abilities to portray characters.
To follow is a list of characters that are not able to be played.. example.. There are no relatives of Snape mentioned in the book and he had no kids, so you can not play a relative of Snape.
All cannon characters must be in line with the book, say Harry would be 31 in the year 2012, so you could not put an app in stating you wish to play an 18 year old Harry.

Rule 8: Word count
Minimum word count is 200 words. Some cases are ok, but please try and do this much. Also, don't dead end your posts. Keep it open for the next person to easily flow from your post into theirs.
Rule 9: Have fun!
Well, if you got this far, just have fun, and place the passphrase Mischief Managed in your profile! Make no mention of Priori Incantatem as your first passphrase!
